AMT VICTORY FOR RHYS SEARANT

Another impressive result for Whitebridge tennis player Rhys Searant, winning today’s Newcastle Australian Money Tour final in a dominant display, 6-4, 6-3.

Up against close friend, the Central Coast’s Bradley Simpson, Searant didn’t look like losing… with the number one seed building on a successful 2018 that saw him push into the top 100 nationally.

The women’s AMT final was much closer – Nakisa Djamshidi claimed the first set over Ivana Vlakic 7-5…

Before running away with the match, winning the second 6-2.

The five-day tournament saw players from juniors, right through to opens, at Broadmeadow’s District Park courts.
