His dad’s world water speed record is within reach – Newcastle’s David Warby is back in his jet powered boat for test runs on the Manning river.

Heading up the highway to Taree today, Warby put on an impressive show for onlookers.

Born and bred in the Manning Valley, Rob Douglas joined the Taree bureau in June 2021 after a short career in print media. He joined the Tamworth team in July 2023. Rob graduated from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst in 2016 with a sports journalism degree.
