Two people hospitalised following alleged Taree street brawl
Police are investigating an alleged brawl between patrons and security guards in Taree overnight.
Just after midnight, three men were refused entry to the Royal Hotel.
Officers say a fight broke out, sparking several other fights on Victoria Street.
The street was temporarily closed with both the pub and nearby Exchange Hotel shut down for the night as a precaution.
“We harp on this many times if you’re refused entry you have to accept it if you don’t leave immediately then you may face the consequences of facing court or an infringement,” Chief Inspector Anthony Moodie said.
Multiple people were injured, with a 38 year old man and a 46 year old woman taken to Manning Base Hospital for head injuries.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
