The state government will provide $19,000 in funding to help members of the local indigenous population get behind the wheel.
The money will go towards a drivers training program, and provide participants with 8 hours of professional driving training a week, so they can clock up enough hours to go for their permits.
Literacy and numeracy education will also be provided for those who need assistance.
The program will run for 12 months staring from the 17th of October.
