Hillville sunflowers raising funds for Mid Coast charities

It started as a hobby after the Black Summer bushfires, now the Mountain View Sunflowers has a cult-like following in the Mid Coast.

The Hillville farm holds weekly ‘picks’ for the community… with all funds going to a local charity.

Today’s final session for the season saw hundreds file through the gates, raising thousands for Ability Options Taree.

“Everyone is enjoying themselves, bit of fun for people to come out have a day out the flowers are cheap and everyone gets a selfie,” the farm’s Rob Mitchison said.

But don’t worry they’ll be planting again soon, in time for the July school holidays.
