Lismore local wins big

A Lismore man says he is “buzzing” after winning $1 million 12 months after floods devastated the town.

The man from Northern Rivers, New South Wales took home $1 million as one-quarter of the division one Lotto prize in the Monday & Wednesday lotto draw on Monday 27 February.

The winning ticket was bought at Lismore Central Newspro and the winning numbers were 10, 36, 39, 26, 16, 6, while the supplementary numbers were 29 and 11.

“Oh mate, buzzing,” the winning man said.

“I was just checking my ticket in the car, and I got a feeling I might have won this. Then I just marked all the numbers off.

“These are the numbers I’ve been using for years. There’s some birthdates and other numbers I’ve been playing for a very long time.

“It’s a shock to the system, I can tell you. My knees are shaking.

“I’ll still keep working, but this will set my family up for the future.”

Nicole Renshaw, manager of Lismore Central Newspro, said the community needed the win following the flood devastation.

“It’s really good news! Coincidentally it was won on Monday, which marks 12 months since the Lismore floods,” she said.

“We’ve had quite a few people come in to check their Monday & Wednesday Lotto tickets, hoping they were the mystery winner we were looking for.”
