Firefighters extinguish burning bus on Central Coast
A bus driver “ran to safety” after a huge fire broke out in his vehicle on the New South Wales Central Coast this morning.
The driver was the only person on board when the blaze started just before 8.45am in on Brisbane Avenue in Umina.
Fire and Rescue NSW said the bus was “well alight” when emergency service crews arrived.
“Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, applied foam and water to the smoke and flames, quickly dousing the fire,” NSW Fire and Rescue said in a statement.
“It’s not known yet what started the blaze.”
The scene has been cleaned up and the bus has been towed away.
