ICONIC WALKING TRACK TO LINK FIVE BEACHES

Tourists will soon have yet another reason to flock to the Central Coast.
Gosford Council plans to build a pathway linking five beaches, similar to Sydney’s iconic Bondi to Bronte walk.
Tourists will be drawn to the 5 Lands Walk because of the natural beauty of the beach and headlands. They do not want to walk along a drainage channel and behind peoples back fences. Copacabana needs a footpath along Del Monte Place anyway so this is the logical choice for the Walk..
The drainage channel suggestion is ridiculous – it does not take into consideration the problems caused – lack of privacy, lack of ocean view, flooding potential.
People come to the coast to enjoy the COASTAL views and ambience, not an overgrown drainage channel. Council has not been able to keep this channel from choking in weeds and the locals have been forced to keep the channel banks tidy and weed-controlled. This local activity will cease if this pathway runs along a drainage channel and council will not maintain it as the locals have done. The path is a great idea but should follow the coast not some backwater weedbed.
