Investigators are appealing for information after officers were called to a home in Brunswick Street in Ballina around 9:15pm Monday 10th April, following reports of shots fired.
Police heard that several shots were allegedly fired into the front of property with no one injured.
After establishing a crime scene, police have been led to believe the incident is a case of mistaken identity.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
