Police investigate alleged historical child sex abuse claims at a Wisemans Ferry holiday park

Police have launched an investigation into reported child sex abuse offences in the state’s Hawkesbury region during the 1980s.

Detectives attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October 2022, following a number of reports of alleged child sex abuse that occurred at a holiday park in Wisemans Ferry.

Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a holiday park allegedly sexually assaulted a number of young boys.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may be able to assist detectives, including anyone who holidayed in the area at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000
