The end of an era as ‘old lady Liddell’ switches off

She was Australia’s oldest running coal-fired power station, but Liddell was switched off for good today.

It marks the end of an era for the Hunter and New South Wales.

But as one chapter closes, another begins and tonight, there are mixed emotions for the thousands of workers involved in its 52-years of operation.
