MEN CHARGED OVER FIXING TAMWORTH CUP

Two men have been charged after allegedly fixing this year’s Tamworth Cup by giving the winner Prussian Secret performance enhancing substances.
The two men are accused of ‘drenching’ the horse before the race last month.
“Drenching” involves administering substances to a horse before a race to improve its performance.
Yesterday, detectives, Racing NSW and racing stewards searched properties in Attunga and Bendemeer and arrested a 27-year-old man and a 47-year-old man.
Both were charged with a string of offences including facilitating conduct that corrupts the betting outcome of an event.
