Aboriginal Legal Service forced to freeze services in more than a dozen local courts

The Aboriginal Legal Service has been forced to suspend its services in more than a dozen local courts across the state, after a request for emergency funding wasn’t met.

The ALS, now concerned about the impact this will have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders – already over-represented in the legal system.
