Human bone found off Byron coast

Police have confirmed they are investigating the discovery of a human bone off the Byron Bay coast.
A local diver claims he located the bone, believed to be a tibia, while diving the SS Wollongbar Shipwreck, offshore at Belongil Beach on Saturday, May 6.
Police divers conducted a further search of the area on Saturday, May 13.
The bone will now undergo further forensic testing to identify its origin which will include comparison with known missing persons.
Tweed-Byron Police District are investigating and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
