Arrest following fatal stabbing in Tamworth
The 37-year-old died at the scene
A man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing in South Tamworth yesterday, Sunday June 18th.
Emergency services were called around 3:15pm to a unit block on Suzanne Street following reports a man had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, police located a 37-year-old man suffering a stab wound; despite efforts from police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, he died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Officers established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, detectives attended a home on Cossa Street, South Tamworth, and arrested a 28-year-old man just before 10pm.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
