Federal Immigration Minister Chris Bowen says serious concerns have been raised by an independent review into claims African refugees have been living in squalid, overpriced homes in Newcastle.
Newcastle MP Sharon Grierson says Mr Bowen has received the Ernest and Young report, and will respond to it as quickly as possibly.
The investigation was sparked after complaints were made about refugee service provider Navitas.
