Coonabarabran’s Darcy Clifton has taken out top honours in this years North West Sports Association Awards.
The primary school student was named Sports Person of the Year for his outstanding efforts in rugby league, swimming, cricket and athletics.
Other students recognised included Oxley High’s Jessica Aldridge for her achievements in track and field and Taylor Gilmore, who took out the service award for contribution.
Australian Cricketer Erin Osborne was also on hand to give some valuable advice to the rising stars and their parents.
“The hours spent on the roads and at the fields throwing balls to your kids um kicking balls being the time keeper and the opportunities provided to us by our schools that play sport it’s all worth it,” Osborne said.
