DAVID “DASHER” FORDHAM DIES

Former NBN sports presenter David Fordham has died following a lengthy battle with cancer and heart disease, he was 62.
Born in Bingara, Mr Fordham grew up in Newcastle where he launched his media career with NBN Television.
Known as Dasher, he covered four Olympic and Commonwealth games, Rugby World Cups, and numerous golf, cricket, tennis and league championships… and received many accolades as a broadcaster.
David Fordham is survived by his wife Erica, daughter Sally, son Simon and their families.

  1. So sorry to hear about David’s passing. What a quick-witted intelligent guy who lightened the news load remarkably. Really admired your ability to unite workmates and turn a workplace into home. Never forgotten… the tale of the half-shaved eyebrow lives on!

  2. Very sad to hear of David’s passing. I worked with him and Reg Davis in the late ’70’s – early 80’s at NBN. Very professional and a very funny guy. You never knew what might happen when he was around. Best wishes to his family . . .
