Boy pricked by hidden needle
An eight-year-old boy was hospitalised after he pricked himself on a used needle hidden inside toilet paper on the NSW Mid North Coast.
The child was using a public bathroom on Koala Street in Port Macquarie just before midday on Sunday when he pricked his hand on the concealed needle, which was still attached to a syringe.
The needle had been rolled into the toilet paper roll, police have been told.
The boy was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for treatment.
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident.
They are urging anyone with information about the needle or those involved to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
