Police appeal for information following Grafton assault
Police are appealing for information after a 64-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at Grafton last night.
Police have been told the man was asleep in his vehicle while parked on Prince Street, when he was awoken by up to six people approaching his vehicle about 10.15pm Thursday.
As the man got out, he was allegedly punched and kicked several times before being assaulted with a long object.
As witnesses came to the man’s aid, the group fled the scene and were last seen heading north along Prince Street.
The man drove himself to Grafton Base Hospital where he was treated for lacerations to his head.
Officers established a crime scene, which has since been forensically examined.
