Man to face court after shooting wounds two in Lake Macquarie
A man will appear in court today after a shooting in the Lake Macquarie area in New South Wales put a man and woman in hospital last week.
Emergency services were called to an address in Gateshead at about 2.20pm last Thursday, September 21, after reports of gunshots.
Police found a 42-year-old man and 32-year-old woman with gunshot wounds.
They were both taken to hospital in a stable condition.
At about 12.45pm yesterday, police arrested a 31-year-old man in Wallsend.
Police say they found two guns at the property, and seized them for further examination.
The 31-year-old was charged with shooting with intent to murder, possessing an unauthorised firearm, using that unauthorised firearm, and discharging a firearm with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court today.
