The Lake Macquarie community rallied today to raise more than $18,000 for injured footballer, Damien Jobson.
The 35-year-old Windale rugby league player was left a quadriplegic following a tackle in May.
The fundraiser at Warners Bay included raffles, entertainment and a visit by Knights players.
All money raised will go towards his ongoing recovery.
