PIONEER PARK SAGA CONTINUES

More than 500 locals have signed a petition to save Coffs Harbour’s Pioneer Park.

Council plans to build a road through the park, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion from planned works at the Harbour Drive and Gordon Street intersection.

But it has attracted a number of complaints from Councillor Sally Townley, who claims the idea is based on flawed plans.

Mayor Denise Knight has requested council supply a detailed briefing of the work before the matter is re-tabled to councillors.
