December 1971, a statue of Tessa the seeing eye dog, was unveiled at Stockton.
Her owner, Mrs Jean Dowsett and Tessa raised $45,000 for the Guide Dog Movement, a world record at the time!
Being visually impaired can have its challenges but people like Roy find a way, he built his own house in 1965.
Using regular tools and building methods, he completed tasks like a true craftsman..
With help from wife Jean, Roy achieved his dream, through pure determination..
