PUBLIC SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT ON GUNNEDAH OFF-LEASH DOG PARK

A safe place to play for our four-legged friends is hard to find in Gunnedah, but that looks set to change.

Gunnedah Shire Council has been asking the community for their thoughts on the best location for a new off-leash dog park.

“We’ve had quite a few submissions come back, some happy with the suggestions we had, some with some more ideas,” Councillor Gae Swain, Deputy Mayor, Gunnedah Shire Council.

The new park would replace the current site at Woolshed Reserve, which is unfenced and unsuitable for dogs running free.

Council first proposed Athol Gallen Park as a potential site, with more suggestions being considered.

“Now that we’ve put the suggestions out to the public there’s been a fair bit of feedback so obviously people were thinking about it in the back of their minds, so obviously they can see a need for it.”
