DONATING HIS TIME FOR OUR SAFETY

A Yamba pilot is giving up his free time in a bid to make the coastline safer for water users.
Until the end of January, Peter Coulter will fly his sport-auto-gyro-copter between Woody Head and Wooli on the look out for sharks and or surfers and swimmers in trouble.
Last summer he patrolled beaches between Byron Bay and Ballina, and this year he decided the Clarence Valley coastline deserved some attention.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to be of some benefit to the likes of surf clubs and any other organisation that might be looking for some sort of coastal surveillance feedback.”
Mr Coulter will make the Woody Head to Wooli run twice a day on the weekends and every morning during the week.
