Third man charged over murder of Zachery Davies-Scott
The alleged murder took place in the Hunter in December 2022.
A third man has been charged over the alleged 2022 murder of young father Zachery Davies-Scott in a home invasion gone wrong in New South Wales’ Hunter region.
Emergency services were called to a home on Traders Way at Heddon Greta, east of Cessnock, on the night of December 27, 2022, over reports of a shooting.
Despite efforts by paramedics, 25-year-old Davies-Scott died at the scene.
Strike force homicide investigators were told a group broke into the house before shooting Davies-Scott.
The suspected home invasion gone wrong unfolded in front of his pregnant partner and two children, aged two and four, who were uninjured.
A woman, 52, was also at the home and suffered minor injuries after trying to fight off the alleged attackers.
A man from Elermore Vale, 25, has today been charged.
Police are currently searching a home in his suburb.
Two men, 24 and 25, were both previously charged with murder and remain before the courts.
Another woman, 25, was recently charged on January 5 with hindering the investigation and possessing a prohibited drug.
