Authorities believe a bushfire that menaced around 40 homes at Kurri last night was deliberately lit.
Some residents fled, while more than 100 firefighters were brought in to battle the blaze.
Despite reports of a rollover, a Rural Fire Service tanker was only slightly damaged in a collision with another vehicle.
