New South Wales Treasurer Mike Baird has deflected questions about whether the Hunter is being short-changed, when it comes to the sale of Newcastle Port.
He says giving the region around 30 per cent of the proceeds is “fair”.

So the talk is of Newcastle Port being sold – to who? I for one am sick and tired of selling off our soles to smarter foreign interests. We will soon just be tenants in our own country. What a great legacy for our children.
