SUFFOLK LAND SALE HITS SNAG

Officials negotiating the sale of Suffolk Park’s Beech Drive Reserve, have hit a snag.
Byron Shire Council says it can’t afford to buy the land, at the State Government’s current asking price.
Instead, it can only afford a third of that amount.
The government agreed to sell the land to council for community use, following protests earlier this month.
Council’s now working to try and find a more affordable figure that both parties can agree on.
