The Pacific Highway upgrade between the Oxley Highway and Kempsey is one step closer to fruition, with the successful tender announced this morning.
Consulting companies SMEC and Hyder have been awarded the contract to finalise the concept design for the 37.8 kilometre stretch.
The upgrade will provide dual carriageway in both directions and also includes new bridges for the Hastings and Wilson river crossings.
The design is expected to be complete by early next year.
