Pre-polling for the local government elections has proven popular in Tamworth.
More than 2,500 people have already cast their vote, with a further four thousand expected before the end of the week.
Today many used their lunch break to beat the crowds expected at polling booths across the region, on Saturday.
Those who fail to vote will be given a $55 fine.
