Intruder leaves Ballina family shaken

A Ballina family have been left shaken after intruders broke into their home on Marsh Avenue around 4am this morning.

The thief allegedly stole the family’s red Jeep, which was later seen by police on River Street in West Ballina.

After failing to stop, Police deployed road spikes to slow the vehicle – eventually crashing into a shop on Kerr Street.

The driver then fled the scene, and is still on the run. Police are investigating.
