Two people have had their charges upgraded to murder after allegedly assaulting a 72-year-old man at Gloucester earlier this year.
The man suffered severed head injuries after being assaulted outside his home on January 10.
He died from those injuries on April 19.
At the time a 41-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm and yesterday those charges were upgraded to murder.
The pair will appear in Taree Local Court in July.
