YOUNG SOLDIER ATTACKED ON GOLD COAST

A young soldier has been brutally, bashed, while his medals were lost or stolen, during an ANZAC Day brawl.
The 24-year-old East Timor veteran was waiting for a taxi with his wife in Coolangatta, when he was set upon by three men.
“The boys ganged up on my husband. His medals fell off during the fight. I tried to grab one of the guys off him and I was thrown to the ground at which point I lost the medals i had just picked up.”
“You’d think being a young soldier on Anzac Day he is going to be safe with his suit on and his medals on. You don’t think anyone is going to touch a soldier.”
He’ll undergo major surgery for a broken leg.
