NEWCASTLE GREENS LAUNCH CAMPAIGN AS NEW STUDY INTO COAL DUST

While they’ve been on the hustings for months the Newcastle Greens officially launched their campaign today.
It comes as a new study by the Coal Terminal Action Group was released, finding particle pollution was 13 times higher as trains pass through suburbs.
The highest levels recorded from unloaded coal trains.
Michael Osbourne said “it’s something residents of Newcastle have known for a long while and something the EPA and the coal companies have been denying.”
The New South Wales Minerals Council claims the results are extremely limited, and fail to show covering wagons would effect particle levels.
Wagons are covered in Queensland and Peru, why not NSW??
