CHILD BITTEN BY SHARK AT HUNTER TOURIST ATTRACTION
A 10-year-old boy received the fright of his life this morning when he was bitten by a shark.
He was on a school excursion at the Australian Shark and Ray Centre in Port Stephens, when things got a bit too close for comfort.

Not a first for the centre at all! My son was bitten on the leg and hand (not his fault) while on a school trip last year, by a gummy shark, enough to draw blood and require a fair sized dressing which was done by the centre staff. I fully support this centre and its work, but I am concerned that the centre is not minimising the risks to children. When my son was bitten he was told that ‘people get little nips all the time’.
