Mystery surrounds how a man ended up on a footpath at Burleigh Heads early on Sunday morning, with life-threatening head injuries.
Police have set up a crime-scene outside Horizons Apartments on the Gold Coast Highway.
One theory is – the man, believed to be a resident, tripped and hit his head, but police want to speak to witnesses before ruling out foul play.
