A teenager- accused of stealing a drink from a Hope Island petrol station, before threatening the attendant with a gun- will stay behind bars until at least early September.
18-year-old Aaron Catley faced court today on a charge of armed robbery he didn’t apply for bail.
His lawyer says he was under the influence of drugs during Sunday’s alleged crime.
“This is a sad story of a young man from a good background who became a user of ice and who acted very foolishly. He’s told police that he’s going to plead guilty.”
Catley handed himself into police, after seeing security vision of the robbery on the news.
