SUPERBOATS MIGHT GIVE COFFS A WIDE BERTH
Despite the success of the Australian Offshore Superboats in Coffs Harbour over the weekend, the city is in danger of losing round 4 of the series next year.
The Mackay Marine Precinct in Queensland has offered funding to stage the event on the same weekend next year and organisers are hoping Coffs Harbour can match it.
“You know they’ve got the cash because it’s a bit of a mining town and it’s really difficult to not go where the money is,” said Superboats’ spokesman Con Saloumidis.
Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser says he’ll lobby Destination New South Wales to see if funding can be arranged to keep the event in Coffs Harbour.
