A man has been doused in petrol during the attempted robbery of a Hunter bottle shop last Sunday.
At around 7pm, two masked men entered the store on Cessnock Road at Weston.
One of the men doused a 39-year-old employee in petrol and demanded access to the safe, but he refused and ordered them to leave.
The pair left empty-handed.
Detectives have now released CCTV images of two men.
They’re described as being in their 20s, about 183 centimetres tall, with medium builds.
