A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Taree overnight.
At around 7pm, police were called to a house on Stevenson Street following reports two women had been stabbed.
Police found a 39-year-old woman with a stab wound to her abdomen outside.
She was taken to Manning Base Hospital for treatment and later released.
Meanwhile a 49-year-old woman was found dead inside the home.
A 53-year-old man was charged with murder, wounding with intent and breaching an apprehended violence order.
He’s due to face Taree Local Court today.
