HERITAGE ITEMS TO BE RESTORED

A collection of rare heritage items in Port Macquarie are set to be restored to their former glory.

The Port Macquarie Historical Society will receive more than $12,000 to conserve wood etchings, a plaster relief and a photo album from the 1800’s.

Once restored the items will be on display at the Historical Museum on Clarence Street.

The funding comes from the federal government’s Community Heritage Grant Program, which aims to preserve locally-owned collections.
