NO NEWS ON STRATFORD COAL MINE EXPANSION

Locals are still waiting to find out if the proposed coal mine extension at Stratford, near Gloucester will go ahead.

The project was first put on exhibition in November 2012, before going to the The Planning Assessment Commission, which released its final report in May last year.

The proposal has been sitting with the Department of Planning ever since and it is still unknown when a decision will be made.

If the project does go ahead, the mine will expand its operations into three new areas, which would extend its life for another 11 years.
