MAN FOUND IN UPPER HUNTER
There’s been a happy ending to the desperate search for an elderly man missing for two nights in the upper Hunter Valley.
Emergency services received a phone call from a man around 11am from an unoccupied farm house on Worondi Road, Gungal.
There they found 72-year-old Bob Baihn in good health.
Mr Baihn was last seen late on Sunday afternoon, when he went to search for a missing pony on a property on Flaggs Road at Gungal.
His wife and a neighbour then started searching for the 72-year-old after he failed to return home.
Upper Hunter police searched the area yesterday. They were assisted by the dog squad, police air wing and SES volunteers.
There were grave fears for his safety as Mr Baihn is a diabetic and also has a hearing impairment.
Mr Baihn is being looked after by ambulance officers.
