APPEAL AGAINST BAIADA POULTRY FARM TO BE HEARD IN OCTOBER

A legal challenge against the approval of Baiada Poultry’s plans to construct an $82 million broiler farm at Manilla will be heard in October.
A Manilla based grain company is appealing Tamworth Regional Council’s decision to approve the development.
A number of residents have been fighting the company for the last two years, over a number of concerns including increased truck movements, odour and the spread of disease.
The New South Wales Land and Environment Court will hear the case over 10 days, which includes a visit to the proposed site.
