The state’s water resources will be under new management, following the formation of a new organisation.
The Department of Primary Industries Water will now replace the New South Wales Office of Water, after a state government review.
Tamworth’s state Office of Water building has now closed and will relocate under the new name to the DPI Agricultural Institute on Calala Lane.
The new organisation will focus on water planning and policy in rural areas and will oversee all government-funded water infrastructure programs.
