New South Wales Water Minister Niall Blair is assuring water users in the Peel Valley, that a solution to the high prices they pay is being worked on.
Following the latest determination, they’re set to pay more than $50 per megalitre, which is more than double the price in nearby valleys.
A meeting was held last month between the minister, local MP Kevin Anderson and Tamworth Regional Council to look at possible solutions.
“One of the keys to this is actually going through and understanding the way that they pricing structures are set up, that’s a complicated process, it’s something that we’re talking to council and some of those irrigators about.”
