USE COMMONSENSE DURING FARM SAFETY WEEK
Already this year there’s been 24 deaths on farms across the country, but the sad reality is most fatalities can be avoided.
This week those on the land will be encouraged to employ a commonsense approach when it comes to working on the land, as National Farm Safety Week gets underway.
The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘safe farms are productive farms’ and will urge business owners and their employees to make occupational safety a part of their workplace culture.
Particular emphasis will also be placed on farm safety for children, who make up make up 20 per cent of all farm fatalities.
