RAAF pilots will fine-tune their skills under moonlight tonight as part of a night flying diversion exercise.
Around eight FA-18 jets took off from from the Williamtown base earlier tonight and will arrive in Tamworth at about 10pm.
The training will include an Instrument Landing System approach, which assists pilots to land at night or in poor weather conditions.
